Description: Albion Branch NAACP 2019 Annual Back to School/Stay in School Celebration!

Albion Community Foundation and OakLawn Hospital are co-sponsors

In 1984, the NAACP launched the Back to School/Stay in School Program. The program is based on a single premise -- YOU MUST HAVE CHILDREN IN SCHOOL AND EQUIPPED WITH THE NECESSARY SUPPLIES IN ORDER for them to be successful! It is also designed to assist students with academic and social support. The Albion Branch of the NAACP supports this endeavor one hundred percent.
The Albion Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) will collaborate again with Harrington Elementary School Open House for this year’s event. Please come meet Mr. Robert Giles, the principal and your child’s teacher. The Back to School Celebration will be at Harrington Elementary School located at 100 South Clark Street, on August 19, 2019, at 5:30PM. The event will provide backpacks and supplies for students in K- 12th grade.

There is a new component for 10th -12th Grade. It is #CAP, directed by Psi Kappa Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa alpha sorority, Inc. Come learn more information about this new component. As part of this celebration,

This is the ninth year the NAACP has held this annual event. As members of this community, let us continue to work collaboratively to make Albion a wonderful community.

Donations can be made by contacting Robert Dunklin, NAACP President and the NAACP Education committee at 517.629.8659. The Back to School Stay in School Committee is collaborating with other agencies and auxiliaries to provide individual school supplies to be distributed to students. We are asking all supporters to be set up and in place by 5:00PM. DON’T FORGET TO BRING YOUR TABLE!

Please join us and help make this a grand celebration for the start of the 2019-2020 school year.
The doors will open at 5:30PM at Harrington Elementary School.

The Albion Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People and Albion Public Community School District extend gratitude to the education committee (Robert Dunklin, Mae Ola Dunklin, Phyllis Cramer, Vivian Davis, Bernice Wyrick, Kay Knight, Hazel Lias and Eddie Ruth Williams) for their dedication to this project.

You may contact any of the committee members to get information.

Please remember to visit your school and get involved -- TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. VOLUNTEER IN YOUR SCHOOL AND BECOME A MENTOR. OUR CHILDREN NEED YOU!

Please contact Robert Dunklin at 517.629.8659 or email dunkb@sbcglobal.net or Mae Ola Dunklin, chair of the Education Committee at maeolad@aol.com
