Description:
|
Two alumni share memories of a favorite teacher during Albion College's Charles Crupi Memorial Poetry Contest event Monday, April 22, at 5 p.m. in the Bobbitt Visual Arts Center.
Anne Starr, ’03, and Andrew Kimball, '09, will discuss Crupi's impact on their lives and careers. The event will also feature reading of the 2019 contest winners, and induction of one new Crupi Society member.
One of Albion's most popular professors for some 35 years, Crupi retired from the faculty in 2009, passing away in 2010. During his long tenure as the English department chair, Crupi established the Michigan High School Poetry Contest, now renamed in his memory. The adjudicated contest draws hundreds of entries yearly from high school students across Michigan.
This event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact the Albion College English department, 517/629-0232.
