Description:
|
A look into the fascinating, sometimes tortured, lie and work of eloved Romantic computer Robert Schumann comes to Albion with a guest lecture and performance on Saturday, March 23, at 7:30 p.m. in the College's Goodrich Chapel.
Ranging from a lecture of Schumann’s life and music to a performance and explanation of Fantasiestücke (Fantasy Pieces), this concert is sure to dive deep into the mind and life of the famous Robert Schumann.
Pianist, scholar, and teacher George Fee will present Schumann's Fantasiestücke (Fantasy Pieces) and Kinderszenen (Scenes from Childhoo), along with information on Schumann's early life and the mental and physical challenges he struggled with throughout adulthood. Fee's presentation is one of eight unique lecture/performances he has developed to give audiences a deeper understanding of classical music's greatest composers.
This performance is free and the public is encouraged to attend. For more information, contact the Albion College Music department at 517/629=0781 or see www.albion.edu/music.
